ABOUT
STELLA TALIADOROS

About Me

I would describe myself as a multidisciplinary professional with a background in visual anthropology,

dance, psychology, counselling and criminology. I am an artist and therapist, using my experience to aid others through their life's journey.

My experience ranges from filmmaking to working directly with individuals in the criminal justice system, allowing me to blend creativity, empathy, and support in my practice. I am passionate about guiding people through their unique journeys, adapting my approach to meet their specific needs.

Previously, I owned and operated my own café for nine years, which fostered my sense of community, empathy, and appreciation for our shared diversity. Currently, I own and manage The Twelfth House, a creative and wellbeing in which I host a monthly creative club.

I have recently started a new role at Harlow college, teaching level 4 Counselling with applied psychology. This role enables me to keep up to date with current trends and is a honour to teach  future counsellors.

I believe creativity is essential to the human experience, providing people with a voice that transcends words. I am dedicated to helping others explore their own creative expression, especially when words alone aren’t enough.

Alongside counselling, I offer room blended sessions which involve art, movement, body work and talk therapy.

Nature is an integral part of my work; if desired, I offer therapy sessions in the forest. This approach helps clients connect with the seasons and recognise the cyclical patterns within themselves.

To me, the human experience includes the hardships and complexities of what it means to be human. By accepting and exploring these aspects of ourselves, we can open to the full scope of the human experience and embrace all it brings.

My focus areas in my therapeutic work are predominantly around working with Transitions, Boundaries and Divergence.

The Human Experience

Life is an experience that has its ups and downs. Being a Human can be tough! I understand this all too well and also understand that sometimes we need a little guidance and support as we work through life's experience. Each experience is unique and therefore understood from the point of view of the person experiencing it.

'Some things cannot be taught; they must be experienced.

You never learn the most valuable lessons in life until you go through your own journey. '

– Roy T. Bennett.

My years of working within communities, hospitality, and running my own businesses has helped me to see that community and relationships are a fundamental to our human experience. I am not here to judge you, I am here to create a  safe container for you to explore. I often work with clients creatively using modalities involving movement, storytelling and art. This creates a holistic approach to therapy.

Story telling is a huge part of being a Human and working with me, you are able to tell your story as you know it now and write your story as you wish to see it going forward.

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.”

― Carl Gustav Jung
